Brighton & Hove Buses is helping student budgets go a little bit further and promoting our range of student tickets as the university term kicks off this month.
A 2018 survey of 5,000 students by consumer group Which? found that almost half (46%) relied on financial top-ups from their parents to meet course-related costs, on top of tuition fees. On average, students spend £203 a year on travel and that's just to and from work placements and doesn't include travelling to and from uni.
We'll be attending freshers' fairs and university welcome days over the next few weeks advertising our m-ticket app, key smart cards, student discounts and promotional offers. Goody bags filled with B&H Buses' treats will be given to 4,000 lucky students who visit our stall.
Students can also get a 10% discount code and two free one-day NetworkSAVERs if they already have a Brighton & Hove Buses' account or they download the app and sign up for one.
Brighton & Hove Buses will be at Sussex University on 15-16 September for Welcome Weekend & September 18 Freshers' Week. We'll be at Brighton University on 19 September for the International Fair & on 27 September for Freshers' Fair.
