There’s lots to be excited about on the buses this Halloween!
Residents of Brighton & Hove and East Sussex can explore the city’s spookiest locations this Halloween half-term, with great deals on offer for everyone.
With Halloween approaching faster than you can carve a pumpkin, the company are taking a look at Brighton & Hove’s spookiest spots that are accessible by bus. From the blood curdling, to slightly bizarre, Brighton is a city with a rich and paranormal history. And if you head out on Halloween itself (31st October), you might even spot bus drivers dressed in spooky attire.
What’s more, up to four children under the age of 19 can travel free within the Brighton & Hove City area (or for 50p each within the wider East Sussex area) when accompanied by an adult or concessionary pass holder. If travelling unaccompanied, under 19s can travel off-peak for 50p within Brighton & Hove or for £1 within East Sussex.
As well as this, passengers can pay just £5 for unlimited travel for the day (£5.50 for journeys covering East Sussex), meaning everyone can have a spook-tacular day out this half-term and Halloween.

Sea Life Centre/Aquarium: 12, 12A, 12X, 13X
Brighton Aquarium, now Sea Life, opened in 1872 and is the world’s oldest continually operating aquarium. Its grand history has a spookier side with reports of ghosts roaming the aquarium. There have even been calls for a priest to perform an exorcism of the building after a ghostly man with a hunched-back was spotted in the auditorium. Theatre Royal Brighton: Multiple routes
The city’s Grade II listed Theatre Royal is one of the oldest in the country, opening in 1807. In the 1960s, there were reports of a spirit’s presence in the backstage area and dressing rooms. The ghost was dubbed the ‘Grey Lady’ and was rumoured to resemble a nineteenth century French actress, or a former manager and actress of the theatre. Preston Manor & Gardens: 5, 5A, 91
Home to the Stanford family for over 200 years, Preston Manor House is arguably Brighton’s biggest haunt, and in fact is known as one of the UK’s most haunted locations. The Edwardian style house and surrounding gardens are renowned for numerous ghostly residents and spooky happenings first cited in the 16th century. From phantom hands to ‘The White Lady’, the scare factor of Preston Manor & Gardens is not to be underestimated. Stops ‘Preston Manor’ and ‘Preston Drove’ are a short walk from this eerie location.
