The Say Aphasia Charity provides supportive drop in groups for people with aphasia. These groups help to improve the welfare of people with this condition. Aphasia is not well known, and so support can be sparse, even though aphasia affects around 350,000 people in the UK. The fact that this condition is rarely heard of, contributes to the loneliness that aphasia sufferers experience. And so our aim is to provide support in a social environment with like-minded people. And so our aim is to provide support and to help them to overcome the struggles of living with aphasia. And to adapt to their new way of life, in a social environment.
