Fare deals for young people from 2nd May 2023:
Up to four children accompanied by an adult can travel for free for journeys wholly within the Brighton & Hove city area, as well as those journeys starting and/or ending in East Sussex (excluding night services).
Our child fares apply to anyone aged under 19 and any reasonable valid ID can be used to prove that you are under 19 when paying on the bus. BusID cards are still required for our mobile and key card tickets.

busID
Get great deals for young people, aged between 5 and 18, with our free busID.
Our busID allows you to load tickets straight onto the card via your online account, use it to accompany our child mobile-tickets on the app, or to pay a reduced cash fare from the driver. If you top up online your new ticket can take up to 5 hours from the purchase time to be available to use on the bus. This excludes both Annual and Pay Monthly tickets as these require a predetermined start date of at least 48 hours after the date of buying a product.

Young people can get a 10% discount on their annual ticket through Wave Community Bank (WCB).
To take advantage of these great savings, all you need to do is get a free busID card and become a WCB Young Saver. Plus parents/guardians can apply for a loan to spread the cost. For more information go to https://wavecb.org.uk/bus-ticket-discount/
You can also top up your busID at 1 Stop Travel, 26 North Street, Brighton or our head office at 43 Conway Street, Hove however these do cost slightly more. Full details can be found here.

How do I get a busID?
Multi trip tickets
If you don't travel often enough to use of our existing period SAVER tickets, then the multi trip ticket can offer you savings on your bus travel with the added flexibility on when to use them. Find out more about our multi trip tickets here.

If you live in West Sussex, East Sussex or Kent and travel on bus routes operated by other bus companies, you might prefer special fares available exclusively in those areas. Find out more here.
Please note that we regularly audit busID accounts to confirm that only those holding this card are using these tickets. You may receive an email asking for proof of your busID status; this should be provided by the date requested, either by sending a copy of your valid registration card by return to the email or by taking it to 1 Stop Travel, North Street, Brighton, by the due date.
East Sussex
Under 19s living in East Sussex are able get a card which allows the purchase of a Freedom ticket from the driver for £15 per week, which is accepted for travel on most buses in East Sussex and on routes where journeys start or finish in East Sussex. 14-18 year olds need a 3i-D or Choice iD card to buy one and don't even need to be attending school or college.
