One of the biggest events in the city, Brighton Pride, is back! With celebrations all over the city Pride timetables will be in place. All diversions are subject to roads reopening on time.
Route 600 shuttle service
During Pride weekend, shuttle service route 600 will run between Preston Park, the Old Steine, and the Waterhall Campsite. View the route 600 timetable and fares.
Thursday 30th July
From 20:00 - 04:00 the following morning, the A23 at Preston Road will be closed in both directions for the set up for the Pride Park area. During this time routes 5 and 5A and Metrobus routes 271 and 272 will need to divert via Beaconsfield Villas and Preston Drove in both directions.
Friday 31st July
From 21:00, the Sea Life Centre junction will be closed for Pride and will remain shut until 05:00 on Monday. During this time, coastal routes will divert via Edward Street and Rock Gardens, serving Bedford Street.
Saturday 1st August
The Clock Tower and North Street is closed 10:15 - 13:30.
Old Steine closed 10:15 - 13:30.
St James’ Street closed all day.
Sealife/Palace Pier Junction is closed all day.
Preston Road between Stanford Avenue and Preston Drove is closed all day.
London Road to Oxford Street closed 10:15 - 16:30 and 21:00 - 01:00.
Brighton Station, Queens Road and North Road are closed 16:00 - 01:00.
Buses from the west turning at Churchill Square
Eastbound buses (towards Whitehawk) will terminate at Western Road then operate via Montpelier Road, Upper North Street and Dyke Road to Imperial Arcade, turning right into Churchill Square.
Buses from the north (Moulsecoomb and Lewes) turning at Open Market
Buses from Lewes Road and Elm Grove (except 25, 28, 29 and 29A) will terminate at the Open Market between 10:15 - 16:30 and restart the route from the east side of The Level.
Routes 25, 28, 29 and 29A will terminate and restart at Lewes Road bus garage between 10:15 - 16:30.
Buses from Ditchling Road will terminate at the Open Market, between 10:15 - 16:30 turning at the Level, and restarting from the temporary bus stop in Union Road.
Closure of London Road from 21:00
Buses coming from Lewes Road will not serve the Open Market but will use St Peter's Place and use St Peter's Bus Lane.
Buses from Ditchling Road and Elm Grove will serve the Open Market, then divert down the east side of St Peter's Church.
Buses northbound towards Lewes Road/Elm Grove will use St Peter's bus lane and St Peter's Place, then serve The Level bus stop northbound.
Buses using Ditchling Road will use St Peter's bus lane, St Peter's Place, Lewes Road and Union Road, serving the temporary stop in Union Road.
Buses from the east and coastal road routes
All services will terminate at either Park Street or the Bingo Hall (Upper Bedford Street) between 10:15 - 13:30.
For the entire day all buses that serve the Sealife Centre will divert via Lower Rock Gardens and Edward Street in both directions. Any passengers that use the Sealife stop should go to Edward Street Law Courts Stop.
Route 1
Between 10:15 - 13:30, buses will operate between Mile Oak and Churchill Square and Whitehawk and Upper Bedford Street.
St James’ Street is unable to be served all day.
Route 1X
Between 10:15 - 13:30 buses will operate between Mile Oak and Churchill Square only.
There will be no buses between the Marina and County Hospital during this time. Route 7 and 23 are available as an alternative.
Route 2
Between 10:15 - 13:30 these routes will operate between Steyning/Shoreham and Churchill Square. Also, between Rottingdean/Woodingdean and Brighton College (Freshfield Way) turning around the Bingo Hall. Some morning journeys from Rottingdean to the Bingo will depart slightly earlier compared to normal.
St James’s Street is unable to be served all day.
Route 3X
Between 09:40 - 15:30 buses will operate between Hangleton and Brighton Station only.
Between 15:30 - 16:30 buses will operate between Hangleton and Seven Dials only.
From 16:30 the buses from Brighton University will divert via St Peter's Bus Lane, (stopping at St Peter's Church) then non-stop to Seven Dials via Old Steine, North Street and Dyke Road.
The buses from Hangleton will stop at Seven Dials as normal then divert via Dyke Road, North Street, Old Steine and serving St Peter's Church in the bus lanes northbound, then onto a normal route past St Peter's Church. A revised timetable will operate from 16:30.
Routes 5/5A/5B from Patcham and Hollingbury
Preston Road between Preston Drove and Stanford Avenue is closed all day.
Before 10:15 routes 5 and 5A will operate non-stop via Preston Drove and Beaconsfield Villas.
Between 10:15 - 16:30 route 5 will use Braybon Avenue, Surrenden Road, Preston Drove to Fiveways and Ditchling Road to the Open Market. Then turn via The Level, serving the temporary bus stop in Union Road. Then use the same route back to as a service 5A.
Route 5B will not operate from Asda to Braybon Avenue between 09:40 - 16:00.
From 16:00 - 2100 routes 5, 5A and 5B will operate via Preston Drove, Fiveways, Ditchling Road and Oxford Street to London Road.
From 21:00 buses will serve the Open Market southbound, then use the east side of St Peter's.
Routes 5/5A/5B from Hangleton
Preston Road between Preston Drove and Stanford Avenue is closed all day.
Before 10:15 routes 5/5A will operate non-stop from Springfield Road via Beaconsfield Villas and Preston Drove.
Between 10:15 - 16:30 all buses will terminate at Churchill Square.
Between 16:00 - 21:00 routes 5, 5A and 5B will operate via Oxford Street, Ditchling Road and Preston Drove to resume normal route.
From 21:00 buses will not serve London Road, but will operate via St Peter's Place, Lewes Road, Union Road (serving the temporary stop), Ditchling Road and Preston Drove.
Route 6
Between 10:15 - 16:00 buses to Brighton Station go via Montpelier Road, Seven Dials and Terminus Road. Buses from Brighton Station via Upper Gloucester Road, Buckingham Road, Dyke Road and Imperial Arcade, turning right into Churchill Square.
From 16:00 all buses will terminate and start from the Old Steine.
Route 7
Between 10:10 - 13:25 this route will operate between George Street and Brighton Station, dropping off at stop B1 at Brighton Station, then picking up at stop B6 for the return journey.
Between 10:15 - 13:30 route 7 will operate between Brighton Marina and Upper Bedford Street. Buses will drop off on the westbound Upper Bedford Street, then restart from the Upper Bedford Street stop eastbound.
Normal route between 13:30 – 16:00.
From 16:00 - 01:00 this route will not serve Brighton Station, instead will serve Dyke Road and Imperial Arcade in both directions.
Routes 12/14/13X
All buses will use Edward Street and Lower Rock Gardens all day.
Between 10:00 - 13:35 westbound buses (towards Brighton Station) will terminate at Park Street eastbound, and will be starting the next trip from the same stop. Buses will then turn right at Upper Bedford Street, then left onto the seafront A259.
Between 13:35 - 16:00 buses will serve Brighton Station as normal.
From 16:00 all buses will terminate/start from Imperial Arcade due to the closure of Queens Road and Brighton Station.
Route 20 - Queens Park
Services to Queens Park will not serve St James’s Street all day.
Services in Queens Park will be suspended between 10:15 - 13:30.
Between 13:30 - 16:00 services will operate between Queens Park and Imperial Arcade.
From 16:45 all intending passengers at Imperial Arcade to Queens Park need to board at C7 instead of C8.
From 16:15 services will not serve Brighton Station.
From 21:00 services will not serve London Road.
Route 20 - Hollingdean
Between 10:15 - 16:30 buses will terminate at the Open Market and restart in Union Road after turning at The Level.
From 16:00 buses will not be able to serve Brighton Station in both directions. Buses to Hollingdean will operate as normal to Imperial Arcade, then divert via Regent Hill and North Street to St Peter's Church.
This diversion will be non-stop between Imperial Arcade and St Peter's Church.
Buses to Queens Park will divert via St Peter's Bus Lane then Old Steine and North Street, dropping passengers off at Old Steine and North Street, picking up intending passengers for Queens Park at Imperial Arcade C7, turning via Regent Hill and Western Road to resume a normal route onto North Street.
From 21:00 buses from Hollingdean will not serve the St Peter's Bus Lanes, but will serve the Open Market, then use the east side of St Peter's Church.
From 21:00 services towards Hollingdean will not serve London Road, but will use St Peter's Place, Lewes Road serving The Level stop and Union Road temporary stop.
Route 21
Between 10:00 - 16:30 all buses will terminate at the Open Market and restart from The Level northbound. Buses from Goldstone Valley terminate and restart at Churchill Square, a revised timetable applies on these journeys.
From 21:00 due to the closure of London Road this departure towards the Marina will not serve the Open Market, but will use St Peter's Church Bus Lane, St Peter's Place and Lewes Road.
From 21:00 due to the closure of London Road this departure towards Churchill and Goldstone Valley will serve the Open Market southbound, then use the east side of St Peter's church.
Route 22
Between 10:15 - 16:30 all buses will terminate at the Open Market and restart from The Level northbound. From 21:00 due to the closure of London Road buses from Woodingdean will serve the Open Market, then divert down the east side of St Peter's Church. Buses towards Woodingdean will use St Peter's bus lane, St Peter's Place and the east side of The Level.
Route 23
Normal service all day but may be subject to delays.
Route 25
Between 10:30 - 16:30 services will be running between Lewes Road Garage and Universities only.
Route 24
Between 10:15 - 16:30 buses will terminate at the Open Market southbound and restart from the east side of The Level northbound. From 21:00 this departure southbound will not serve the Open Market but will use the Lewes Road and St Peter's Place to get to St Peter's Bus Lane. The northbound buses will also use St Peter's Place and Lewes Road.
Route 26 (and 46 in Hollingbury)
Between 10:15 - 16:30 buses will terminate at the Open Market southbound, turn at The Level and restart at the temporary bus stop in Union Road.
16:00 – 21:00 normal route.
From 21:00 this route will serve the Open Market southbound, then use the east side of St Peter's Church.
The northbound route (towards Hollingbury) will use St Peter's bus lane, St Peter's Place, Lewes Road and Union Road, serving the temporary bus stop in Union Road.
Route 27
All buses will use Edward Street and Rock Gardens all day.
Between 10:10 - 13:30 westbound routes (towards Westdene) will terminate at Park Street eastbound, and restart the next trip from the same stop. Buses will then turn right down Upper Bedford Street, then left onto the seafront A259.
Between 10:30 - 13:30 buses from Westdene will terminate at Brighton Station stop B5 and pick up from stop B6 heading back to Westdene.
From 16:00 all buses will operate via Imperial Arcade and Dyke Road in both directions.
Routes 28/29/29A
Between 10:00 - 16:30 buses to/from Tunbridge Wells, Heathfield, Eastbourne, Ringmer and Lewes will terminate and start from Lewes Road Bus Garage.
Route 46 (Southwick)
Between 10:00 - 16:15 buses from Southwick will terminate at Churchill Square.
From 21:00 buses from Southwick will use St Peter's Place, Lewes Road and Union Road serving the temporary stop. From Hollingbury they will serve the Open Market, then use the east side of St Peter's Church.
Route 48
Between 10:15 - 16:30 buses will terminate at the Open Market and restart from the east side of The Level.
From 21:00 buses will not serve the Open Market but will use the Lewes Road, St Peter's Place and St Peter's Church both directions.
Route 49
Between 10:10 - 16:30 buses will terminate at the Open Market and restart from the east side of The Level northbound.
Between 10:15 - 16:30 buses from Portslade Station will terminate at Churchill Square.
From 21:00 buses will not serve the London Road/Open Market and will use Lewes Road and St Peter's Place in both directions.
Route 77
This service will not be able to operate from Brighton Palace Pier all day.
Between 09:55 - 15:20 this route will start and terminate at Brighton Station, dropping off at stop B5 and picking up at stop B6 heading towards Devil's Dyke.
From 15:45 the buses will divert via Dyke Road between Seven Dials and Imperial Arcade both directions (not serving Churchill Square).
Route 78
Between 10:30 - 16:30 this route will start from the east side of The Level northbound and terminate at the Open Market southbound.
Route 79
Between 10:15 - 16:30 this route will terminate at the Open Market southbound, and restart from the temporary bus stop in Union Road, using The Level to turn around.
From 16:00 this route will not serve Brighton Station, instead serve Royal Pavilion (R1) then use St Peter's bus lane to get on normal route.
N1
Buses diverted via Edward Street all night.
Serving stops Royal Pavilion (R1) and Law Courts in Edward Street.
N5
Route is unchanged, may be short notice diversions in the London Road area.
N7
First N7 trip diverted away from Brighton Station via Imperial Arcade.
N12/N14
All buses will use Edward Street and Rock Gardens in both directions.
Serving Stops Royal Pavilion (R1) and Law Courts in Edward Street outbound towards Newhaven.

Sunday 2nd August
