Working 06:00 – 18:00 (on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern), the successful applicants will be responsible for undertaking all manner of work required to maintain a fleet of public service vehicles whilst complying to the company and DVSA standards.
Key duties and responsibilities:
• Respond to on-road breakdowns and provide running repairs where required
• Use diagnostic equipment and workshop systems to identify faults and record work completed
• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on PSV vehicles to ensure fleet availability and reliability
• Make sure vehicle availability is met and reduce mileage to a minimum
• Maintain strong communications with all departments and take phone calls from contractors, breakdowns and colleagues
• Adhere to Company policies and be fully aware of Health & Safety responsibilities and the relevant regulations
You will need:
• A full manual driving licence giving entitlement to drive in the UK. A PCV licence is desirable (if you don’t have one, you must be willing to achieve this)
• NVQ Level 3 PSV / HGV engineering qualification, including the IRTEC accreditation, is preferred
• Previous experience of working with large passenger type vehicles would be an advantage, alternatively experience working with commercial vehicles
• A flexible approach with respect of working hours and tasks undertaken
• Good communication and team working skills, able to work with others and build relationships
• Ability to work without close supervision, taking ownership and pride in your work
