Proof of Age
Young people aged 14 to 18 may be asked to prove their age when buying a child ticket if they are not wearing school uniform.
To avoid being charged an adult fare, we recommend verifying your age before you travel.
You can verify your age by:
- Using child verification in our app
- Applying for a busID card
Child busID cards are available from:
- Our Travel Shop on North Street, Brighton
- Our depot at 43 Conway Street, Hove
Accepted ID
The following forms of ID are accepted when purchasing child tickets:
- In-app child verification
- Child busID card
- UK passport
- UK driving licence
- Sussex 3-iD card
