Brighton and Hove Buses’ Coaster (Alexander Dennis Enviro400) has been crowned winner of the Best Bus Livery in Route One’s annual livery competition.
The competition celebrates excellence in Livery design, shining a light on outstanding designs that catch the eye but also tell the brand’s story.
Over 100 operators entered their vehicle designs, with over 3000 public votes cast to determine the finalists, featuring the newly refreshed Coaster. The finalists’ liveries were then presented to an independent judge who selected Brighton and Hove Buses Coaster as winner in the Best Bus Livery category.
The judge responded to the Coaster design, commenting on its reflection of the ‘vibrant energy of Brighton’ as well as a sleek and contemporary design, with ‘harmonious colours and clean lines’.
“Brighton & Hove Buses’ livery effectively combines modern design with the coastal character of the area it serves. The seaside theme and bold colours reflect the vibrant energy of Brighton and the surrounding area. The design is sleek and contemporary, with harmonious colours and clean lines, making it a standout choice.”
Senior Graphic Designer for Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus, Kimberley Murphy who played a key role in the Coaster’s refresh said:
"It's been hugely exciting working on the designs for this livery. The Coaster routes are some of the most picturesque in the UK, and we wanted to develop a livery that celebrated the incredible scenery along the iconic coastline."
The Coaster operates on Routes 11X, 12, 12A, 12X, N12 and 13X
