'Beside the Sea' Bus Shelter Exhibition Extended

2 weeks ago Sat 21st Jun 2025

We're delighted to announce 'Beside the Sea', a world-first photography exhibition displaying on bus shelter roofs has been extended until Monday 30th June 2025.

The exhibition was presented by internationally acclaimed photographer Martin Parr and Brighton’s own celebrated documentary photographer JJ Waller as part of the Brighton Festival 2025 in May.

Over 65 large-scale images of vibrant seaside life have been pasted to the roofs of bus shelters across Brighton, creating a gallery that can only be viewed from the top deck of a double-decker bus. Parr and Waller, united by their passion for capturing the quirks of British coastal culture, have curated selections from each other’s portfolios to create a playful and thought-provoking journey through the iconic British seaside.

To see the full show, simply hop on a Brighton & Hove double decker bus, grab a seat upstairs, and enjoy the view as the city rolls by:

For those not travelling on the top deck, the full gallery is available to enjoy online here.
