Next Stop: memory lane

111 days ago Thu 4th Oct 2018

Our vintage Routemaster bus took thirty older people on a nostalgic trip down memory lane around Brighton and Hove last Friday (28 September) as part of this year's Older People's Festival.

The bus began at Churchill Square, went along the seafront and then headed over to Conway Street bus depot for an 'access all areas' behind the scenes tour.

The tour included a visit to our engineering department and a drive through the bus wash on a more modern bus, followed by photos on board theRoutemaster. Then it was all aboard again for the return trip via the seafront.

Caroline Ridley, CEO of Impact Initiatives, who run the festival, said: "It was great to have this event in the festival again this year, as it was so popular last year. People told us they enjoyed being on the bus but also finding out about how it all works behind the scenes. They got a fantastic goodie bag too and we're all hoping it runs again next year."
