Brighton & Hove Buses is celebrating another strong performance in this year’s independent Your Bus Journey survey, published today by Transport Focus

Brighton & Hove Buses achieved an impressive 90% satisfaction rating - a further three‑point increase on last year and significantly above the national average of 85%. Metrobus also performed strongly, with 87% with an increase of two points.

These positive results reflect the company’s continued investment in improving services for customers. More than £50 million has been committed to upgrading bus infrastructure  including a total of 104 brand new buses and the expansion of popular routes. This includes two new express services: The 1X from Mile Oak to Brighton Marina and the 3X from Hangleton to Falmer - both have quickly built a strong following.

The investment continues this spring, with 16 new electric buses launching in April on the route 7, connecting Whitehawk in the east with George Street in the west. These zero‑emission vehicles form a key part of the company’s ongoing commitment to greener, cleaner travel for the city.

Brighton & Hove Buses is also enhancing its much‑loved night bus network, adding two new commercially funded routes and making further improvements to existing services to give passengers even more flexibility and reassurance when travelling after dark.

Rupert Cox, Interim Managing Director for Brighton & Hove Buses, said:

We’re dedicated to providing reliable, punctual and welcoming bus services and it’s great to see this recognised by customers. In the last few months, we’ve invested in new buses and new routes to serve our community. Whilst we’re very proud to have scored so highly, and above the national average, we’ll have more improvements to come this year, including our new zero-emission buses.
