2024 Christmas Services Success
There was an uplift in use of our 2024 Christmas & New Year bus services, which are set to return for 2025.
For the third year, we ran a special Christmas and New Year schedule that included commercially funded Christmas Day bus services at no cost to the taxpayer.
Our buses carried nearly 6,000 passengers on Christmas day across routes 1, 5B, 7, 12 and 49, with the 12 extending through to Eastbourne, which is an increase of 38% vs 2023.
This year was also the first time that Eastbourne saw a Christmas Day bus service with an hourly bus on the Coaster route 12.
Nick Hill, Commercial Director at Brighton & Hove Buses said:
“It’s great to see that our commercially funded Christmas services continue to be enjoyed by so many at no cost to the taxpayer. It is hugely important to us to keep our local community connected all year round, and that includes helping passengers to get to where they need to be on Christmas Day.”
“The demand is clear, and these services are highly likely to return for 2025. We will also be looking at where we might be able to include additional services for Christmas this year.”
Almost 6,000 passengers travelled with Brighton & Hove Buses on Christmas Day, an increase of 38% vs 2023.
