We're on board for Catch the Bus Month 2025!

11 months ago Tue 2nd Sep 2025

September is Catch the Bus Month, and we are on a mission to bring people together through accessible, inclusive transport. This September there are more reasons than ever to get on board!

Buses are not only one of the greenest ways to travel, reducing pollution and congestion, but they also promote social inclusion by connecting people to work, education, health, friends and family, improving lives and opportunities.

At Brighton and Hove Buses, we’ve been working hard to make bus travel more accessible, convenient and affordable. For example, we offer a range of fare discounts for bus travel in the city and beyond:

In Brighton & Hove, and supported by Brighton and Hove City Council as part of their Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), kids go free with a fare paying adult or concessionary pass holder, and Under 19s travelling unaccompanied can travel for just 50p! Outside the city and across East Sussex kids travel for just 50p with a fare paying adult or concessionary pass holder, or can travel unaccompanied for just £1, all thanks to our partnership with East Sussex County Council and their BSIP. Click here for more information on our fares.

Students can now get up to 40% discounted travel and we have capped, flexible fares to make sure bus travel remains affordable for everyone. As well as saving on travel, your bus ticket also offers discounted entry at lots of local attractions including Preston Manor, Brighton Zip and the Royal Pavilion, plus exclusive deals on local food and drink at Redroaster, Shelter Hall, Bagelman and Badiani Gelato.

As well as working to reduce fares, we are continuing to improve our services. This includes a new school service, 94B, linking Whitehawk with Varndean and Dorothy Stringer Schools coming 3rd September, plus an exciting, brand-new express route, the 3X,coming on the 28th September!
