Dyke Road - Roadworks

From 10th March - 29th March, Dyke Road will be closed between BHASVIC and the Esso Garage due to roadworks.

This will be Southbound only.

During this time, we will be unable to serve the following stops:

- Booth Museum

- Port Hall Road

During this time, services will be on diversion via The Upper Drive and Old Shoreham Road.

A temporary stop will be located at the top of The Upper Drive.

Coleridge Street Northbound (Towards Hangleton) - Bus Stop Suspension

During this time there is a temporary stop by the bridge near Prinsep Road on Sackville Road.

Preston Road - Roadworks - Diversion

Due to roadworks, Preston Road by Preston Park will be closed in both directions between 7pm and 7am on the 24th of March

Services 5 and 5A will divert via Beaconsfield Villas and Preston Drove in both directions serving all stops on route.

Route 1
Until 13:30, buses will operate between Mile Oak & Churchill Square and between Eastern Road (Upper Bedford Street) & Whitehawk only. Mile Oak services will operate via Victoria Road, Portland Road, Blatchington Road, Eaton Road & Selbourne Road instead of New Church Road until 1800.

Route 1X
Until 13:30, buses will operate between Mile Oak & Churchill Square Only.

Buses will operate via Victoria Road, Portland Road, Blatchington Road, Eaton Road & Selbourne Road instead of New Church Road until 1800. The 1X will remain limited stop, serving Scott Road & Trinity Church (George Street) Eastbound. Westbound Route 1X will serve Blatchington Road (George Street), Scott Road & Portslade Station (H) while on diversion.

Route 2
Until 15:15 Route 2 will operate between Steyning/Shoreham and Churchill Square only, using Eaton Road & Selbourne Road to Palmeira Square, then diverting up Montpelier Road to Seven Dials and down Dyke Road, dropping passengers off at the Bus Stand in Dyke Road, before the Junction of Upper North Street, then turn Right from Imperial Arcade into Churchill Square where this bus will terminate and restart.

The section of route between Churchill Square and Rottingdean will be will not be operating until 15:00.

The first Eastbound bus towards Rottingdean is the 14:10 from Shoreham. The first Westbound bus towards Shoreham is the 15:01 from Rottingdean. A limited alternative service in Woodingdean and Sutherland Road will be available on diverted Route 27.

Routes 5/5A/5B
Until the 13:27 departure from Hardwick Road these Routes will operate between Hangleton and will terminate and restart at Churchill Square.

Until 17:20 all 5 Routes to and from Hardwick Road will divert via Eaton Road & Selbourne Road in both directions.

Services between Patcham and Hollingbury will be operating and the first bus will be at 13:40 from Hollingbury ASDA and at 14:17 from Patcham (Mackie Avenue).

Route 6
From the start of service until 18:00 buses are to divert via Portland Road, Blatchington Road, Eaton Road and Selbourne Road in both directions.

Departures from Brighton Station between 10:10 and 14:30 are to diverting via Upper Gloucester Road, Buckingham Road and Dyke Road to Imperial Arcade, turning right into Churchill Square. During this time the Clock Tower and North Road stop will not be in use so we would advise passengers to use either Brighton Station or Churchill Square bus stops

Route 7
From 05:50 until 13:10 this service will operate between George Street and Imperial Arcade & The Marina and Upper Bedford Street.

Buses from Hove will run via Brighton Station & Queens Road to Imperial Arcade, services from Brighton will operate via Buckingham Road & Upper Gloucester Road to Brighton Station then normal route. The first Route 7 that will run the full route will be the 13:13 departure from George Street.

Services will operate between Marina to Upper Bedford Street where they will terminate and restart. The first Route 7 that will operate the full route will be the 13:16 bus from the Marina.

Routes 12/12A/13X
Until 13:14, buses will start and terminate at Upper Bedford Street (Eastern Road) will not be stopping at bus stops between Upper Bedford Steet stop Eastbound and Rottingdean.

Eastbound Routes will divert via Eastern Road, Wilson Avenue, Downs Hotel & Falmer Road to Rottingdean.

Westbound Routes will divert via Rottingdean, Falmer Road, Downs Hotel, Race Hill, Freshfield Road, Freshfield Way to Upper Bedford Street bus stop where they will terminate and restart.

Between approximately 13:39 and 15:00, buses will still follow the same diversions, but will serve Brighton Station via Edward Street, Old Steine, North Street & Queens Road both directions.

Between approximately 15:00 and 18:00, buses will operate via Edward Street, Eastern Road and Roedean Road both directions, serving all stops on route.

Route13X will serve the Law Courts, County Hospital and Roedean Road bus stops.

Routes 14/14B/14C
Between 06:30 and 14:10, buses will terminate and restart at Upper Bedford Street and then will operate towards Peacehaven Routes will divert via Eastern Road, Wilson Avenue, Downs Hotel & Falmer Road to Rottingdean.

Route 14C via Eastern Road, Wilson Avenue, Falmer Road, Woodingdean and Rottingdean both directions, will serve all stops on Eastern Road. Brighton Marina will not be served during this time.

Between approximately 14:10 and 15:51 buses will still follow the above diversion, but will serve Brighton Station via Edward Street, Old Steine, North Street & Queens Road.

Between 15:51 and 18:00, buses arriving at Brighton Station will continue to operate as Route 14C, running via Edward Street, Eastern Road & Roedean Road and will serve all stops on diverted route.

Normal service will resume at 18:08 from Brighton Station & 17:40 from Peacehaven.

Route 18
This route will not be operating until 13:55.

The first departures will be from Stonehurst Court at 13:57 and Brighton Station at 13:55.

Route 21
Until 13:32 buses from the Marina will terminate and restart from St Lukes Church Westbound, then turn Right into Queens Park Road, Right into Down Terrace to get back on route.

Buses from Goldstone Valley will use normal route but turn right onto Lansdowne Road, left down York Road, left onto Western Road to Serve Montpelier Road), then up Montpelier Road, Right into Upper North Street, terminating at Imperial Arcade and restart at Churchill Sqaure.

Normal service will resume from 14:05 from Brighton Marina.

Route 22
Until the 13:42 departure, buses will run between Woodingdean and Lewes Road Bus Garage, by turning Right at the bottom of Elm Grove into Lewes Road, dropping off on the Lewes Road garage Northbound stop

Route 25
From 05:47 until 13:36, Route 25 will operate between the Universities and Lewes Road Garage only. The last morning service 25 due through the Old Steine is at 05:48 to Portslade & 05:38 to Sussex University. The first service 25 will operate from Old Steine at 14:11.

Route 24
Until the 13:40 departure from Hollingbury Asda this service will run between Hollingbury ASDA and Lewes Road Bus Garage only.

The first departure from Churchill Square will be 14:27.

Route 26
Until the 14:11 departure from Hollingbury, buses will run between Hollingbury ASDA and Rugby Road..

The first departure from Churchill Square on the 26 will be 14:37.

Route 27
Until 14:12, buses to and from Saltdean will run via Route 2 from Rottingdean via Woodingdean and Sutherland Road to terminate and restart Freshfield Way bus stop.

Freshfield Way bus stop Northbound. Due to the long diversion, a revised timetable will apply between Saltdean and Brighton until 13:50. Buses will operate every 30 minutes during this time.

Between 13:50-14:50 Journeys from Saltdean will follow the same route, but will go through town via Edward Street and Old Steine to get back on normal route.

Between 15:10-17:30 Journeys from Saltdean will divert via Roedean Road, Eastern Road & Edward Street between Rottingdean and Old Steine. Normal service will resume at 17:55 from Saltdean.

Until 14:02 buses from Westdene will run via Upper Gloucester Road, Buckingham Road & Dyke Road and will terminate at Imperial Arcade facing down the hill. Towards Westdene service will operate via the Clock Tower & Queens Road, normal route from Brighton Station.

Between15:02-17:20 Journeys from Westdene will operate via St. James’s Street, Eastern Road & Roedean Road.

The 17:40 departure from Withdean Stadium onwards will operate normal route.

Route 28
Buses from Eastbourne will terminate and restart at Lewes Road garage until 13:24. Normal service from Churchill Square will resume from 14:34. Normal service will resume from Eastbourne with the 12:42 departure.

Routes 29/29A
Buses from Tunbridge Wells & Heathfield will terminate and restart from Lewes Road Bus Garage until 14:09. Normal service from Churchill Square will resume with the service 29A, 14:12 departure.

Normal service from Heathfield will be the 12:49 departure, from Tunbridge Wells the 13:02 departure.

Route 46 (Southwick & Portslade Station)
Until 13:27, buses will run between Southwick and Churchill Square only, using Eaton Road & Selbourne Road to Palmeira Square, then diverting up Montpelier Road, Upper North Street to Imperial Arcade and terminate and restart at Churchill Sqaure.

Between 14:43 & 17:43 services between Southwick and Hollingbury will use Eaton Road & Selbourne Road to Palmeira Square. Services that normally terminate at Portslade Station will terminate at Palmeira Square.

Route 46 (Hollingbury)
There will be no Service 46 in Hollingbury until the 13:41 departure from Five Ways towards Hollingbury. This will form the 13:46 departure from Buxted Rise to Southwick.

Route 48
Until 13:48 buses will run between Lower Bevendean and Lewes Road Garage only.

Normal service from Bevendean will resume with the 14:01 departure from Bodiam Avenue terminus. Service from Old Steine at 14:26 & Churchill Square service will resume at 14:51.

Route 49
Until 13:54, buses will run between Moulsecoomb & Lewes Road Garage only

Between 13:42 - 17:12 services will then run Moulsecoomb to Palmeira Square only.

From 17:27 normal service will resume. Service from Old Steine will resume at 14:34 & Palmeira Square at 14:37.

Normal service from Portslade will resume from 18:25.

Route 50
Until 13:39 only a shuttle service between Lewes Road Sainsburys and Hollingdean will operate. Normal service will resume from 13:59.

Route 77
This Route will operate between Churchill Square & Devils Dyke route All Day. Apart from the 14:40 & 18:30 departures from Devils Dyke will terminate at Old Steine

Route 78
This Route will operate between Lewes Road Garage to Stanmer Park, then as normal from the 13:55 departure from the park, onto the 14:30 departure from Old Steine

Route 79
This Route will operate between Rugby Road & Ditchling Beacon. Normal route will be the 13:40 departure from the Beacon onto the 14:10 departure from Old Steine.

This service is not operating all day.
