A Very Brighton & Hove Buses Christmas

The North Pole is not the only place you’ll find Santa’s little helpers this Christmas…

As a thank you for travelling with us this year, and to mark the festive season, we’ve captured a sprinkle of behind-the-scenes magic from Brighton & Hove Buses, Metrobus and Spirit of Sussex.

It’s been a fantastic year at Brighton & Hove Buses, with 63 million journeys in 2024!

This year also saw the launch of the 1X express service, with an Olympic-worthy event at Churchill Square with gold medalist Sally Gunnell.

The winning streak continued for Catch the Bus month (which focused on accessible travel for all) as ‘ambussdors’ Bly Twomey and Will Bayley MBE won medals at the Summer Paralympic Games.

We continued to be industry leaders in accessibility, winning Best Practice in Diversity, Inclusivity and Accessibility at the National Transport Awards 2024, with Accessibility and Communities Manager Victoria Garcia MBE recognised for a Special Award at the Route One Awards.

Route One also crowned our Coaster the winner of Best Bus Livery at their annual livery competition which celebrated excellence in livery design and the reflection of the ‘vibrant energy of Brighton’ within the design.

Most recently, we were absolutely delighted to round off the year with recognition across 4 categories at the UK Bus Awards, including the Gold in the category Culture Change, for ‘Training through dramatised storytelling’.
