Free travel this August for 5 to 15 year olds

From 1st to 31st August, children aged 5 to 15 can travel free on local bus services across our network. The offer is available whether you are travelling independently or accompanied by an adult, with no time restrictions.

The scheme is fully funded by the Government.

Please note that free travel is not valid on Brighton City Sightseeing or Eastbourne Sightseeing services. Young people aged 14 and over may be asked to provide proof of age when travelling.

Free travel for 16 to 18 year olds

Young people aged 16 to 18 can travel free with a fare-paying adult or concessionary pass holder until the August following their 18th birthday in the Brighton & Hove City Council area.

Please note that this offer is not valid on N1, N5, N7, N12, N14, N25, N29, N48, Brighton City Sightseeing or Eastbourne Sightseeing services.

We offer a range of discounted fares and tickets for children and young people. Child fares are available until 31st August following a young person's 18th birthday, helping support those in further education and through the summer holidays.

Proof of age

Young people aged 14 to 18 may be asked to prove their age when buying a child ticket on our services.
