Tap in to summer!
Yesterday
Summer starts at the bus stop! From family fun-filled days out to exploring world-famous locations with friends, your summer adventure by bus has never been easier thanks to contactless.
For adults our ‘Tap On Tap Off’ contactless service is the simplest way to pay. Just tap your card once on the ticket machine when you board, and once on the tap-off reader when you step off the bus at your destination.
And if you’re ticking off a list of must-visit locations this summer, you may be eligible for our daily or weekly price capping when you travel frequently with us.
What’s more, the national £3 fare cap is in place until December 2026, meaning you can travel anywhere across our network for just £3 per single journey!
If you’re looking for summer days out inspiration, our mobile app also has over 11,000 locations to search for, with live bus information, travel alerts and contactless journeys all in one place.
And if you still can’t choose, here are some of our recommendations.
Coaster
For a journey almost as scenic as the destination, tap onto a coaster service and be mesmerised by the spectacular Sussex coastline this summer.
Marvel at breathtaking views and landmarks that have long provided the iconic backdrop to some of pop culture’s most famous moments, including the world-famous Seven Sisters.
Tap off at Birling Gap on the 13X for unparalleled views of the Seven Sisters white cliffs, or tap off at Seven Sisters Park Centre on the 12 and 12X to pop into the shop, pick up a map, or talk to local experts in the Visitor Centre about the area.
Continue your contactless coaster journey and enjoy a day out in the seaside resort town of Eastbourne this summer. A location with a busy summer events calendar, lots of unique shops and restaurants, and a beautiful beach and pier, Eastbourne is a must-visit location by bus.
What’s more, from Sunday 19th July an enhanced night service will be introduced between Brighton and Eastbourne, with overnight buses operating seven nights a week! Coaster routes 12 and 14 will also be simplified to help you tap on to your next adventure with ease.
Around the city
Tap out of the office and into an evening adventure in Brighton this summer. Hop on route 20, 21 or 23 to Queen’s Park and watch the sun set over the city and enjoy food and drink from the array of pubs in the area.
If you’re visiting Queen’s Park during the day, be sure to explore the range of quality coffee shops close by, including the cafe in the park open exclusively during the summer months.
So much more than just a city green-space, Queens Park is home to a children’s playground, tennis courts and a large pond area. Use the solar-powered duck feed dispenser for the pond’s inhabitants or try one of the park’s official orienteering routes as a family.
From Queen’s Park, why not hop on the bus to Brighton Marina and dine against the picturesque backdrop of the UK’s largest marina?
In addition to restaurants and cafes, Brighton Marina has ample entertainment options for a great day out. Choose from the likes of UV mini golf, virtual spots, bowling or a visit to the cinema.
Multiple bus routes serve Brighton Marina, including the express route 1X and route 7.
Regency
Explore the historical towns of Lewes and Tunbridge Wells on the Regency route this summer.
Both locations boast a quintessentially British atmosphere, with cobbled streets, quirky shops and picturesque coffee spots.
If you’re heading to Lewes, you can enjoy 50% off admission to the iconic Lewes Castle and Anne of Cleves House.
Breeze
Tap out of city life, grab a picnic and walking boots and ‘Breeze Up To The Downs’ on routes 77,78 and 79 to Devil’s Dyke, Stanmer Park, or Ditchling Beacon.
The gateway to the South Downs, Stanmer Park (route 78) is part of The Living Coast, a designated urban biosphere. Connect with nature as you stroll around the 18th-century country estate, try your hand at foraging or visit the popular ‘One Garden’ plant market and cafe.
If you’re looking for more of a challenge this summer, tap onto route 77 to Devil’s Dyke, or route 79 to Ditchling Beacon and explore a hiking trail surrounded by panoramic views of land and sea.
